WORD CONTROL SCREEN PROJECTS HAS SIGNED AN AGREEMENT WITH FRENCH COMPANY GONELLA PRODUCTIONS, WHO WILL DISTRIBUTE MOUNTAIN FIRE INTERNATIONALLY.

Based in Aubagne, in the south of France, Gonella Productions specialises in short films from around the world, and selected Word Control’s 38 minute war drama from the short film market at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.

Producer Boris Ivanoff says Mountain Fire was submitted to Clermont-Ferrand as a work in progress, with only a basic grade and rudimentary sound mix: “That the film was selected based on this work print, I think, is a vote of confidence in the performances of the cast, and I’m thrilled and humbled that [Acquisitions Manager] Michael [Cohen] at Gonella saw the potential of the story in its eventual completed form.”

Mountain Fire joins Gonella’s catalogue of over 1500 titles and will be primarily pitched to television channels in Europe and North America. Word Control expects to deliver the completed film in early 2020.
